While I love designing and etching for people for all occasions, creating memorial or remembrance pieces is especially meaningful to me. It was the impetus for starting my etching business.
In 2012 our world collapsed. We lost our beautiful son John. At one point I decided I wanted a candleholder for him for the table at family gatherings and holidays. John loved learning about the universe, and I designed it with his name and stars etched in two layers of glass to make it more dimensional. Once lit, the stars and his name cast moving shadows on the table. It was very peaceful and comforting. It was my first remembrance piece.
We have a few artist friends and family who created pieces for us in John’s memory. To this day those beautiful objects remind me of his kind and loving spirit, my friends and family, and the deep connection we share. It is in this vein that I hope to create meaningful art for others who have lost a loved one.
Ordering: I have designs to choose from, but if there is an idea that has special meaning let’s talk about it. If you would like to use someone’s signature or handwriting I can work from a photo of it. There is a one time art fee starting at $45.
Let’s talk about your idea.
